We have all done it. At least those of us willing to admit it. What, you ask? Spent countless minutes and hours thinking about the past, pondering the many variations of answers to life’s what ifs. Fondly remembering the good ole’ days. Days long gone and days that when we were actually living them, didn’t even seem all that good. It is funny how time and added responsibilities puts the past into perspective. The problem, as I see it, is that spending too much time thinking about the past can create a lot of dissatisfaction with the present. While we may not be completely satisfied with the now in our lives, dwelling on the past will do nothing to improve upon the present. So, whenever I catch myself spending too much time thinking about when life was simple and I had not a care in the world, I will think about what a good friend recently said to me – “Yesterday is Yesterday and Today is Today!”
Here’s to living in the NOW of life!
