Five-Minute Friday: Rest

Five Minute Friday

Rest. In. Peace.

I’m not sure why God saw fit to take a 38 year old wife and mother of three from this earth, but he did.  I didn’t know her very well, but she was loved dearly by some very good friends.  My heart breaks for them.  In the couple of times we were around each other, I could tell that she was sweet and kind.  I could tell from her Facebook pictures that she loved being a mom and loved her family.  Tears well up in my eyes for them.

Our time on this earth is precious.  Nothing is promised.  We must live life to the fullest, cherish those we love and do the best that we can today.

Live in the moment can sound cliche’ but this moment right here, is all that we have.   The next one may not be ours to live.

Rest in peace, Tanya.

  1. Oh. my. goodness. This post had my heart strings tugged from the very beginning. My heart ached as I read each word. It spoke to me, that’s for sure. And then, the last sentence…. *gasp* with my name. Thankful for this reminder today.

  2. What a tragedy. 😦 I hate when that sort of thing happens. What a poignant reminder. Your conclusion is right on. Time certainly is precious!

  3. Praying peace for her family – that only things of God stick to their grieving hearts! Praying they can rest at night with peaceful sleep and restful dreams:) We need to love our best every day:) Wishing you blessing and much living that love!

  4. Sorry to hear about your loss. Very, very sad…the worst a mother can imagine…not beign around for our babies. hugs.

  5. What a great reminder to love on purpose!!

  6. I can’t even respond to this tragedy! Thank you for sharing this wonderful woman’s memory and reminding us to live the life He died for us to have. Blessings to you. 🙂

  7. Dear Joy
Yes, we need to love and live in the moment for we have absolutely no control over the next hour or the next or the next. In any case, living in our Lord brings us in touch with eternity no matter what lies ahead! Visiting via FMF.
    Much love

  8. Praying for her family, friends and you. It appears Tanya left a might legacy that even today is teaching other women to rest and hold their family close. Thank you for being Tanya’s voice to me today .

  9. Praying peace for Tanya’s family and kids. Good reminders to hold on to the best things, the most important ones, friends and family and let go of all the other junk that doesn’t matter- anger, bitterness, strife, stress and REST in him. Thanks

  10. Those are the kinds of things we can never really understand, aren’t they? I thought the same thing following the progress of a sweet little boy who died after an illness brought him and his family to their knees. Praying for the family.
