On the surface, this week doesn’t quite seem like the type of week that would make me want to jump for joy. Too much heartache for too many people. So much tragedy in Boston. So much destruction of life and property in West, Texas.
But yet, there is still good in the world. And while some times weeks like this seem to leach our collective strength, we must remember where our true strength comes from. That is what allows us to jump into action in the face of fear. That is what allows us to jump in with donations, with support.
Perhaps after weeks like this, we should force ourselves to jump for joy. To look for the good. To be thankful for the many blessings. To know that even though we don’t know or understand why terrible things have to happen, we do know and take comfort in the fact that God does.
