In the last few years I’ve noticed a pattern about myself. When I have a lot of things on my plate, I start to stress out about all the things I need to get done. In fact, oftentimes I get myself so worked up that I actually can’t even get to the first thing on my list. I become paralyzed by the overwhelming list of things to do.
Not very productive, right?
I have been practicing a solution to this that is quite simple, but works great. Instead of dwelling on the totality of all that I have to do, I make a list and focus on completing one thing at a time. Before I know it, I’m no longer stressed and things are getting crossed off of my list.
Also, separate but somewhat related, I ran across this TED talk by Kelly McGonigal that provides a great perspective on stress. Check it out!
